Ice Cream Social Hard To Top |
|
The first GCA family fun night of the year will be hard to top. Many families filled the cafeteria on Thursday, August 28 for an ice cream social. Arranged by GCA's PST (Parents Serving Together) committee, the ice cream social was a great way to meet new families and make new friends. PST member Tammy Mills helped coordinate the night and while scooping ice cream said, "I love being at the school. It's a time for parents to fellowship and be involved in something that's so wonderful." Whether enjoying the ice cream or visiting with friends, there was plenty of fun. Fourth grader Lincoln Amstutz said his favorite part was getting to put whatever he wanted on his ice cream. "I had two bowls and the cherries are my favorite topping," he said. Little brother Shepard Amstutz, a first grader, said, "I like the brownies and getting to see a lot of my friends." For others, all the goodies were too tempting. "I had seven bowls of ice cream," said Molly Buesking. She quickly laughed and followed up with, "Just kidding!"
